The University of Leeds is one of the largest higher education institutions in the UK and a member of the Russell Group of research-intensive universities. ULE has extensive experience in research and development of standards-based Grid and Cloud infrastructure components for job and resource management (including resource brokering, advanced resource selection algorithms, SLAs, elastic virtual capacity, and middleware); workflow systems (workflow modelling and applications); and energy efficiency (modelling and optimization). The results of the research are published in leading journals and proceedings. The 2008 Research Assessment Exercise confirmed the School of Computing place in the top 10 of UK computing departments, and its status as an international leader in computing.
